This site has no login, no form and no newsletter. The only piece of personal information it is capable of receiving is a telephone number, and only because you dialed one.

Answer first

One telephone number is the only personal thing this site ever handles. There is no form anywhere on it. A call records a ZIP code, the fuel and the symptom, and the number it came from, and it reaches one contractor.

HeaterRelay is a referral service, not a contractor. We connect homeowners with independent contractors. Contractors are required to hold whatever credential their state or municipality demands. Every state page sets out who licenses plumbers there and where to check, so you can confirm before work begins. We carry out no work, we sell no equipment, we do not set prices, and we never charge homeowners anything — the contractors in our network pay us when we route them a call.

The only thing we can receive

There is nowhere on this website to type anything. No contact form, no quote request, no email capture, no chat widget. That is not a privacy policy talking; open any page and look.

So the whole of our relationship with your personal data begins at the moment you dial, and it consists of the number you dialed from, when the call started, how long it ran, and roughly where it came from. Your name is not in that list, and neither is your address.

Why the area is recorded at all

Because a water heater is replaced by somebody who can drive to it. The routing platform matches the origin of the call to the areas our partner contractors cover, and that match is the entire reason the location is recorded. It is not used to price the job and it is not used to advertise to you.

Where it goes next

To one contractor: the one who takes the call. They hear what you say about the heater because they are the person who has to fix it.

It goes nowhere else. We do not build lists, we do not rent lists, and we do not pass numbers to anyone who is not the contractor handling your call.

Visiting without calling

The thousands of pages on this site were written and published before you arrived. They set no cookies of ours, carry no advertising trackers and do not change according to who is reading them. Reading a page about your own town tells us nothing about you.

Deleting the record

Email [email protected] with the number you called from and ask us to remove it. The number is the only key the record has, which is why we have to ask for it back.

Know the fuel and the symptom? That is most of the call.Gas and electric heaters fail in almost entirely different ways, so saying which you have gets you to the right person faster. We route the call and never charge you for it. Water heaters are what we write about; the number goes further.
